President, St. Joseph’s Academy

Marcia Niedringhaus

After many years of service at St. Joseph’s Academy, including as board chair and 18 months serving as interim president, Marcia was appointed President of the institution in 2021. Marcia previously enjoyed a long career as an attorney and real estate developer and is a legacy member of the Commercial Real Estate Women of St. Louis (CREW), where she has served in many capacities, including as President of the organization. She is a past recipient of the St. Louis Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” and “Most Influential Business Women” honors and a recipient of the YWCA’s “Leader of Distinction” award. Marcia is actively involved in the St. Louis Community, having served as a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee in the City of Creve Coeur for six years, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the MUNY Opera Development Board, Variety Children’s Charity, and Marian Middle School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University and a Juris Doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

Connection to CSJs and their ministries

Marcia was first introduced to the CSJ charisms when her daughters attended St. Joseph’s Academy. She spent ten years on the Board of Directors at St. Joseph’s Academy and is currently President of the school. The 175th Anniversary celebration for St. Joseph’s Academy gave her the opportunity to visit and learn more about Fontbonne University (where SJA was once located!).

Marcia has had opportunities to visit and learn more about St. Teresa’s Academy and St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf as well. Her time in service to Marian Middle School is also a connector to the CSJs, as they are some of the foundresses of that institution. Marcia also served as the SJA liaison to the committee working on sponsorship issues during the discernment and formation periods prior to formal establishment of Saint Joseph Educational Ministries (SJEM).
